The Messenger Sculpture Information

Properties of the ‘Messenger’ Sculpture – High Safety and Installation

The Messenger Sculpture is a large and lightweight work originally conceived to be suspended within a proposed atrium venue.

It is attached using one main cable with a subsidiary cable attached as a safety. Two further lightweight cables are attached to simply prevent any rotation.

All cables used as well as beam clamps and fixtures exceed the safety requirements for the weight of the Sculpture by at least doubling the minimum safety requirements.

The material is polymer faux marble laminated over an internal lifting armature made of stainless steel. A second safety lifting armature is also an integral part of the Sculpture.

The Sculpture has undergone full stress testing and outside weather testing over a 3 - month period withstanding all elements including strong wind, excess rain and extremes of temperature.

The sculpture is suitable for internal and external display.
